Both the Navy and the Marine Corps has officers trained as air traffic controllers. We are talking about ground based units and various fixed wing and helicopter vessels.
I wonder how they do their jobs? The 2nd Marine Air Wing is in Cherry Point NC?
Thank you for reading, Chip. Yea it's a good question. Similarly, I've wondered how during an evacuation, like the recent departure from Afghanistan, they get the final men off the ground. At some point, I guess the airspace is no longer controlled as the last personnel leaves the field.
